Unwanted facial hair affects women’s quality of life with regard to their relationships, social lives and self-esteem.  In February 2010, the University of Medicine of Tehran (Iran) published a study on the positive effects of laser hair removal of unwanted facial hair.  In said study, 70 women underwent laser hair removal to eliminate facial hair.  Prior to the treatment, they completed a survey that assessed their quality of life (DLQI: Dermatology Life Quality Index) and three months after having received three laser hair removal sessions, they were re-assessed.  The results of the assessment before and after the treatments indicate that the patients’ quality of life improved as their facial hair disappeared. Improved quality of life is yet another benefit of laser hair removal.
